Is extra help available?

Math lunch tutorials are Monday and Thursday during the 1st half of lunch. I am also available for help every day before school.

Each course page has links to additional resources on the left side. Additionally, many course topics have links to additional resources.

If you would like to hire a tutor, the school system provides a list of area tutors that I can forward to you on request. School system policy forbids teachers from tutoring students who attend their own school.

When is homework due?

Homework is due at the start of class the day after it was assigned.  To receive credit the homework must be complete and show all work.  Homework that just shows answers without any supporting work will receive no credit.  Late homework is not accepted.

To help make the most of our time in class, students should put their homework on the corner of their desks when they come into the classroom to help expedite checking.  Students can also help by having a well-organized notebook that makes it easy to find their homework.

If you are absent you must still turn in the homework to receive credit.

What if my homework is late?

Homework is due at the start of class the day after it was assigned.  Late homework is not accepted.

What if I am absent?

Work assigned prior to the absence is due upon return.  This includes tests and exams that were announced prior to the absence or on the outline handed out at the beginning of each unit.  Assignments listed on the unit outline are due upon return, except in case of illness.  In case of illness, the student has two days for every day absent to turn in the assignments.

The student is responsible for making up all assignments made during the absence.  The student is also responsible to schedule a time to make up any exams.

If the absence is unexcused you may not receive full credit for any made up assignments and exams.

What is your discipline policy?

The Green Hope High School handbook specifies the tardy and office referral policies.  Tardy is defined as not being in your seat, quiet, and ready to go when the bell rings.

  • 1st offense - Verbal warning
  • 2nd offense - Lunch or After School Detention, parent contact
  • 3rd offense - Removal from classroom, lunch or after school detention, referral to discipline office

After school detentions are for 30 minutes after school. It is the responsibility of the student and parents to arrange for transportation.

See below for policy on cell phones and other electronic devices.

What is your cell phone, iPod, and electronic gadget policy?

Electronic devices are not to be used or seen in class. If one is seen in class, it will be collected and turned into the discipline office.

Devices used during classes will be collected and turned into the discipline office and result in a detention and/or referral to the discipline office.

Devices seen or used during a quiz or test will also result in a zero for the exam and a referral for cheating.
